She sneaks out because when you're an Avenger-in-training ( yep, just set the timeline ), and your multiple dad-like-figures want to keep an eye on you, you've gotta get your kicks somewhere.
Pushing the sleeves up on her black leather jacket she raises an eyebrow when he comes into view. There are no expectations for tonight other than, well. Dancing, but she can't help but appreciate what she sees. "Hello."
"No chaperones tonight?" Yes, he went there, grinning entirely too much like the cat that ate the canary. "You look good." Not that he's ever seen her look bad but you know. It's still true.
"I'm a big girl," Wanda assures him with a wry grin herself. She brushes past him confidently, throwing a look over her shoulder as she approaches the club entrance. "Are you coming or what?"
Erik pushes off the wall a nod, walking behind her across the street and glaring daggers at any car that dares come too fast towards them. The guy at the door and Erik share a mock salute before they're both let in - no carding, no questions.
The club is actually underground, with two rooms and two DJs spinning, people dancing, and a bar. Wanda isn't the palest person in the building but she's in the top five. "How much of this made it over to Sokovia?" Erik asks over the music.
Feeling out of her element is a regular thing for her, but it's unignorable the moment she steps inside. Though, being who she is, it's always difficult for her to blend into the background in any given situation.
Still.
The songs have a nice beat and the girl at least has some sense of rhythm to be passable in a dance club. ( Magic wiggly-woos probably don't work so well here. ) At his question, she laughs, "Sokovia is at least five years behind if not more. And I am at least ten or fifteen."
Magic wiggly-woos will definitely make her the center of attention in either a good way or a bad way, depending on the crowd.
"Then you're just in time." She was going to HYDRA's welcome arms just as most of this music was really making it on the scene in the States. "Welcome to my misspent youth. Later they'll play some more current shit. Beyoncé." A one armed shrug, which he turns into a b-boy move and slides onto the dancefloor, cocking a finger in her direction.
Alright, impressive. Her grin widens when she watches him go and, with a laugh, shakes her head. Here goes nothing. Slowly, she takes her hair down from its ponytail and lets it hang down her back in messy brown waves. The jacket suddenly feels to snug over her cropped shirt but she can make do for now; no use worrying about these things when you're being summoned like that.
Eventually, she follows him, taking his hand. "How's about a tour down memory lane?"
"What, you wanna playlist or something?" He's not adverse to the idea, honestly, which surprises him a little. Kind of a teenaged thing to be into, you know? And yet, there's the fact that neither of them really got to be teenagers, for radically different reasons, but still.
He likes it when she shucks off the superheroine thing for a minute and just hangs. He almost always tries to invite her to some shit that would raise Stark's hackles, but...well. He doesn't like Stark, so that? Is a thing. An amusing by-product of spending time with Ms. Maximoff.
Still. He holds her hand and walks her through a few steps. Basic stuff, just to show her how it's done.
"Yeah, I do if you're up for the challenge." Hey, she never had the opportunity to make or receive any playlists before. They are allowed to dip back into teenage habits since neither of them really could indulge back in the day.
Being rebellious not as a hero or a person on a mission but simply as a young woman doesn't come so easily to her but she is certainly learning under his influence. One can't fault a person for wanting a dose of something normal in her life just this once, even if the rest of her is anything but.
She's quick to follow the steps he teaches, never tripping, light on her feet when the time calls for it. She doesn't let go of his hand, her smile as constant as his seems to be whenever she looks up at him, not for reassurance, merely to see how it looks on his face. She likes it.
"A'ight, I can do that." First off, when is he ever not down for a challenge? Secondly, it'll be fun. Give the poor girl some exposure.
He wonders if he should go old-school and actually burn it to a CD. Maybe. Or both a CD and a flash drive of the songs. He'd bet money there's a Scarlet Witch-shaped flash drive in the world that he can get his hands on. Or he could get her something cute from Japan or Taiwan. Things to consider.
After a few songs Erik's face hurts from the smiling and he has to laugh. At himself, at the situation, at how easily he was won over. "You're some kinda magic, you know that?"
